CHAPTER ii: ART BEFORE FASHION
Before there is a garment, there is an idea.
A painting.
A room.
A photograph.
The geometry of a building.
The colors of a landscape.
A flower growing somewhere unexpected.
A story we once heard.
A memory we thought we had forgotten.
At Vitto Ferrer, we do not begin with trends. We begin by observing.
Art teaches us to look closer — to find beauty in proportion, tension, imperfection, color and form. It gives us a language for things that cannot always be explained.
That way of seeing follows us into the studio.
A line becomes a silhouette.
A texture becomes a fabric.
A gesture becomes a detail.
A memory becomes a collection.
We believe fashion can exist beyond the season it was created for. That a garment can hold an idea, tell a story and become part of someone else's life.
For us, clothing is not separate from art.
It is simply another way of making it tangible.
